    We are offering a
    RARE
    Plymouth Congregational Church, Brooklyn, New York, Newspaper.  10 1/4" x 13".  8 pages (including front & back page).
    The paper advertises an upcoming Excursion of the Plymouth Church Sunday School on the Steamer "Grand Republic" to Oscawana Island on the Hudson River, June 12, 1886.
    The first page has an engraving of Plymouth Congregational Church, which was built in 1849.  Engraving was by Moss Engraving Co., NY.  Henry Ward Beecher was minister of the church at this time, until Lyman Abbott took his place in 1888.  A second engraving is of the interior of Plymouth Church with Henry Ward Beecher in his pulpit preaching to a congregation of thousands of people.
    The magazine has all kinds of great advertisements, some with illustrations, for the products and services of the day that could be obtained at stores mostly in Brooklyn, and some in Manhattan.
    The back cover has a full-page ad for Higgins' German Laundry Soap.
    There is also a program for a Square Dance apparently to be held on the steamer.
