This outrageous 1929 Ford Sedan Delivery shows just how far you can take the Model A concept. The long frame and curvaceous body are mated with a blown small block and custom interior to create a ride that looks like a life-size Hot Wheels car. Between the wild visual impact and the crackle of the supercharged engine, this one will draw a crowd wherever it goes.
This car is titled as a 1929 Ford and shows just over 2,000 miles. It uses a custom boxed steel frame with a fiberglass body to create a unique look that, while staying true to a Model A, is unlike most anything else you’ll find. The copper metallic paint and exposed gray chassis work well together. And of course the exposed engine with all its polished and plated hardware is part of the look as well, with air cleaners that almost reach the roofline. There are also 15” Rocket Racing wheels with BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whites (165 front, 285 rear) that go perfectly with this build.
Now let’s talk about that drivetrain. It begins with a 350 ci Chevy that wears AFR aluminum heads along with a Weiand intake and 6-71 supercharger topped by dual Holley 600cfm carbs. The ignition uses an MSD 6BTM ignition box with variable boost retard to prevent detonation. The cooling system uses an aluminum radiator with electric fan, while the exhaust gets a set of Sanderson Zoomie style headers. The engine starts and idles nicely and makes all the right sounds going down the road. The transmission is a TH350 automatic with a cooler and kickdown, followed by a GM 12-bolt rear end. The front suspension features a tubular axle and a multi-leaf spring while the rear uses adjustable coilovers. There are also front disc brakes.
The custom interior is done in brown and beige and features a gorgeous hardwood floor! When is the last time you saw that? The front bench seat folds forward to allow rear access, while the removable rear bench seat can also be tilted forward for storage space. There is a matching embossed headliner along with an overhead console that holds a Pioneer head unit. The dash is painted to match the exterior and has a set of center mounted Dolphin gauges. There is also a chrome tilt column and steering wheel. The headlights, horn, and turn signals all work properly as do the power windows.
This is obviously not your average Model A; there are plenty of those out there. This car is for someone looking for a stand-out hot rod and not wanting to wait 2-3 years or spend six figures to get it. Just be ready for some serious attention with this one.
