Description
1933 Ford Vicky
Street Beast, which was previously known as Classic Motor Carriage, previously known as FiberFab corporation, which is now out of business, the molds have been broken, sold, and gone to the scrap yard. It was the end of an era where these companies were touting anyone can build a kit car in your own garage, and within weeks have a classic of your own doing. What they did not tell you is your garage will need to have all the tools just like your mechanics shop in order to complete this task. The result is that literally thousands of these cars in garages are incomplete!
For consignment, a completed FiberFab kit car in the form of a 1933 Ford Vicky aka Victoria. She has no rust because there is nothing on it to rust, straight lines, good gaps, and all the lines needed to reproduce the '33 Vicky, all in street rod form.
Exterior
Curved molded fiberglass is all linked together and bathed in hot rod red. Some chrome trimmings are also in the mix for highlighting and all in good condition. A shield style vertical ribbed grille with stainless vertical bars is the radiator/grille surround and it is flanked by a single round chrome cased headlight on either side. A nicely curved run the center bumper is on the front and the open cowl hood shows off the mill which is tucked underneath. This roof is a 5-window version and sports tinted glass. Curved fenders melt seamlessly into a central running board and frame 15-inch chrome Torque Thrust wheels in front and black chrome 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels in back. On the back, teardrop taillights are into the rear fenders which flare out at their bottoms and attach to the roll pan which matches the graceful curve of the fenders. Another central curved bumper in good condition frames the bottom of the car.
Interior
Gray tweed mixes with solid gray custom molded panels to form the door inserts. Billet handles are now on, and the passenger side has the armrest missing. A power window toggle is here too. Inside nicely preserved gray tweed broadcloth seats which show as low back buckets are in front and a snug 2 plus 2 bench is in the back. All the interior is covered in the gray tweed, even the headliner which has been custom molded with embossed panels with the entire piece. Gold, (faded gray?), carpeting is on the floors, and in the center is a custom console which houses the shift lever and aftermarket JVC AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo. Just above is a padded strip of tweed that has knobs and pulls within. The dash front and top are bathed in the exterior red and have a gaggle of black faced Auto Meter Sport Comp gauges with satin aluminum bezels surrounding them. Vintage Air is installed, and fronting this sporty dash is a Grant GT lacquered wood steering wheel. Right down to the shiny chrome and rubber pedals the details abound. Overall, the interior seating and doors need a good cleaning as they show some age and smudging.
Drivetrain
As with many hot rods this one has the 350/350 setup with 350 cube V8 circa 1969-1979 according to the block casting number. There is a 4-barrel carb on top, and n back the other half of the 350/350 setup in the form of a TH350 3 speed automatic. A Ford 8.8-inch axle brings up the rear. Headers and some chromed bling are peppered throughout this open-air mill.
Undercarriage
We will assume because the consigner did not specifically tell us, that the frame is also courtesy Fiber fab. It is square steel stock framing and is painted black. Bolted onto said frame is independent coil spring front suspension with power disc brakes and rack and pinion steering, and on back is a 4 link with coil spring and power disk brake system. All looking good and structurally sound.
Drive-Ability
A turn of the key and this FiberFab creation comes to life. On the test track it did well, and we found no problems.
A classic kit car from a company no longer in business and the molds have been broken. This means that the only ones that exist are those that sit unfinished in garages in whatever state, and those that are finished line this one available to drive and enjoy. Is a test drive in your future?
